CEO Story – Life Gumede, Founder of No Mayini Bhozayami

From Struggles to Success: My Journey

Hi, I’m Life Gumede, the founder and CEO of No Mayini Bhozayami, a platform that helps South African youth find learnerships, internships, and job opportunities. I created this platform because I know what it feels like to struggle, and I want to give young people hope and real opportunities to succeed.

Growing Up in Bushbuckridge

I grew up in Bushbuckridge, Mpumalanga, a small village where opportunities were very limited. Life was not easy, and when I was in Grade 9 at Dumisani High School, I lost my father. It was one of the hardest things I have ever gone through. Losing my dad affected me emotionally and financially, but it also taught me to be strong and never give up.

Struggles at School

School was very difficult for me. I failed Grade 10 three times and Grade 11 twice. After failing Grade 10 three times, I dropped out of school. I needed to work and help myself, so I went to work at Makulene local shop for one year. Working taught me responsibility, hard work, and patience.

After a year, I returned to school. Because of my age, I was automatically promoted to Grade 11, even though I had failed it before. I worked very hard and stayed focused. Eventually, I passed Matric with six distinctions. This showed me that even after many failures, you can succeed if you keep trying.

I still remember nights going to bed having only eaten a Chappies bubblegum, dreaming of a better future. Those struggles made me strong and motivated me to help other young people.

Turning Point at SDC

After finishing Matric, I couldn’t go to university because of money. But I didn’t give up. I applied to SDC (Skills Development Center), where I studied hard and finished in record time. This experience showed me that with focus, determination, and the right opportunities, anyone can achieve their dreams.

Becoming a Qualified IT System Developer

I worked hard and became a qualified IT system developer. From failing school and losing my father to achieving academic success and professional skills, I learned that resilience and determination are the keys to success.

Creating No Mayini Bhozayami

I started No Mayini Bhozayami, also called the Symbol of Hope, to help young South Africans access learnerships, internships, and job opportunities. I know how hard it can be to find real, trustworthy opportunities, so I made sure our platform is:

  • Transparent: Every opportunity is checked and verified.
  • Free and Fair: All opportunities are free, and we do not sell posts or accept bribes.
  • Easy to Use: Anyone can browse and apply for opportunities.
  • Supportive: We provide guidance, tips, and advice to help youth succeed.

All the opportunities on our platform come from reputable companies and providers. We also allow users to contact us for post removal, accreditation, or suggestions.

Ads on the Platform

To keep the platform free, we show ads from trusted partners like Google AdSense. These ads help us maintain the website but do not affect the listings or opportunities.

A Message to Young South Africans

If you are struggling, know this: your past does not define your future. I have failed school many times, lost my father, gone hungry, and faced many challenges—but I never gave up. Today, I am a qualified IT system developer and the founder of a platform helping youth all over South Africa.

No Mayini Bhozayami is here to give you hope, guidance, and real opportunities. Everything on the platform is free, honest, and designed to help you grow your career.
